Facebook to bring Hipstamatic-like photo filters to your pictures

Pasirodo FB net ir nupirkti Instagram‘ą bandė… šaltinis wired.

It looks like vintage-style photography isn’t going out of vogue any time soon. Facebook’s engineers have clearly clicked on to the trend for fuzzy, over-exposed shots as created by photo apps like Instagram and Hipstamatic, because there are plans to introduce photo filter options on the social networking site.

The New York Times gleaned from Facebook engineers that the website plans to introduce photo filters to the site in coming months. In an attempt to compete with the popularity of these apps, Facebook is creating almost a dozen photo filters, including some similar to the grainy film and vintage lens effects offered by Instagram. The engineers said that Facebook tried to buy Instagram during the summer, but with no success.

However, Facebook has made sure that this won’t prevent yet more faux-vintage profile pictures winging their way to a Facebook newsfeed near you soon.
